It seems that we have found a church where we feel we belong. It's a lot like what we are used to, so that is great. It's Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Here is the link to the website for those of you that ant to check it out.

They have a whole area dedicated just to kids, with church for the kids and Sunday school after the service. Everyone was really friendly and I think we fit in just fine.

Last week on Friday the kids wanted to have a picnic in the backyard and it was so nice being able to do that for them and have stuff for a picnic in the house in the middle of the month. They didn't stay outside for very long, it was too hot outside so they continued their picnic upstairs in front of the tv.

I will do an update for last weekend tonight or tomorrow. Depending on the computer, it is extremely slow. It is so frustrating.

It's not even 8:00 in the morning yet and the heat is horrible. It's only 68F (about 20C) but it is really hot, I'm melting.

So I took a photo last night at 20:03 for those of you that wanted to see. We are still getting used to it getting dark so late, it happens a lot that the kids get to bed late, or they don't want to go to bed because the sun is still shining outside. We will have to set alarms or something to remind us to send them to bed on time. By 21:00 it's dark out, so after 20:00 the sun sets quickly.

Okay, so it's been awhile since I posted. Sorry for the long wait.

Yesterday was Mother's Day, so Happy Mother's Day so all the mother's out there.

I have been nagging Henry to go to IHop for weeks and we decided to go for breakfast yesterday. Big mistake on our part. They were so busy that the waiting list was at least an hour long, so we decided to do that another day. We went to James' Coney Island instead. It's a hotdog place with really great hotdogs. The food was really great and then for dessert we bought Rocky Road ice cream at Walmart. So I finally had my rocky road and it was so good.

Henry cut the grass last weekend and it was cut just after we moved in. The agency got someone to do it, so this was done about a week and a half after the last cut. It looks bad but they cut there grass a lot longer that what we are used to.

Our one neighbor's grass hasn't even been cut since we moved in so you can only imagine what that must look like to us, so now I can understand why the grass on American movies and shows always looked so green and soft, it's because it's so long.

Mother's Day was great and I had a nice relaxing day and I hope y'all (did I use that the right way Stephanie?) had a great day as well.

The Beast is here!!!

My hubby is in 7th Heaven. 

He finally has his dream car. I swear if a car was a flower, the state flower for Texas will be a truck. And even I can say it is beautiful.

I had my first driving lesson on American soil, it was freaky. It might take me a while to get used to it but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The biggest problem is the mirrors and the blind spots  you kind of forget the blind spot because it is in an awkward spot. I will have to drive a few minutes everyday in our neighborhood to get used to it, before I take on the heavy traffic areas.
